Graphisoft and Singapore Institute of Architects Sign MOU to Elevate Digital Capabilities of Singapore-based Architects
This strategic collaboration plays a pivotal role in local architects' digital transformation. By upskilling and enhancing their BIM proficiency with anaffordable BIM package, architects will be well-positioned to navigate the challenges of a dynamic AEC market effectively.
Singapore, March 7, 2024 – Graphisoft, the leading Building Information Modeling (BIM) software solutions developer for architecture and engineering, signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA). The MOU signifies a shared commitment between Graphisoft and SIA to launch collaborative initiatives to elevate Singapore-based architects' digital capabilities. The primary goals of the agreement are to increase local Building Information Modeling (BIM) expertise, enhance the technology's regional adoption, and prepare the architectural community for CORENET X, the digital platform for BIM submission in Singapore.
The MOU was signed by Mr. Edmund Lau, Managing Director of Graphisoft in Singapore; Ar Melvin Tan, President of SIA; and Mr. Dennis Ng, Executive Director of SIA. The strategic partnership program includes collaboration in the following areas:
• Expert support of and participation in SIA's knowledge-sharing seminars and similar professional events, including introductory sessions with a hands-on approach toward improving BIM literacy and competency.
• Support and participation in continued professional development (CPD), further education, and upskilling initiatives offered to SIA members.
• Joint promotion of an affordable Graphisoft BIM package for SIA members, with specialized training tailored to local market requirements, promoting BIM as a cost-effective and accessible option.
By using BIM adoption to enhance the digital proficiency of architects, this proactive approach aims to help them boost productivity, impress clients, and win projects with the advantages of error reduction, optimized resource allocation, and AI-assisted visual inspiration. Ultimately, the initiative aims to plant the seeds to propel the industry to new heights of efficiency and innovation.
